Thank you for considering becoming a referee with AYSO.

Referees are as critical to soccer as players and coaches. In AYSO, the game cannot be played if there are no available referees. You can be of great help even if you can only do one game per week..

The first step is to register as a volunteer and take Safe Haven and concussion training.

You need to either register as a new volunteers on eAYSO, or renew your volunteer paperwork if you have volunteered at AYSO in the past.

Once you have done the volunteer paperwork, you can access the different training modules on AYSO Trainning (you will need your AYSO ID to access the site).

If you have volunteered in the past, I can try get your ID, you will need to send me an email with your name and email). If you are applying as a new volunteer, you will see the ID on the form as you complete the paperwork).

All volunteers are required to take the Safe Haven training. The other online module you need to take is the Concussion course, offered by the CdC.
Safe Haven --takes about 45-60mins
Concussion --takes about 30-45mins

Once you complete those steps, there are two ways to get your referee certification:
Classroom course or
Combination of online and classroom

Classroom only courses take about 5-8 hours, we will post upcoming courses on this page as they become available.

The online + classroom option is slightly easier on the schedule, as you can break things up and work on the different modules at your own pace.
The classroom portion of the second option takes about 2 hrs.
